Suspended Ceilings

Suspension Grid System
Most suspended ceilings sit onto a modular grid. The most popular size is 600 x 600mm, however the 1200 x 600mm module can also be used. The ceiling grid system is suspended below the roof or upper floor space and hides the main building services such as water, power, air conditioning ducts and computer cables.
The modular construction provides simple and easy access to ceiling void for inspection, maintenance and repairs. This ceiling system provides acoustic and thermal insulation together with fire resistant properties to reduce the spread of flames in the event of fire. It also provides options for the installation of modular lighting and air conditioning vents and grills. The main manufacturers for exposed ceiling grid systems in the UK are Armstrong and USG.
