Value Engineering
Value Engineering:~ This is our crusade when designing and space planning. |
With all aspects of our work, we employ a process of value engineering to ensure the design, specification, and implementaion of every project is the best we can make it. |
We focus on three specific areas:- |
1) |
Functional Value. |
2) |
Aesthetic Value. |
3) |
Value for Money. |
Example 1: Military fighter aircraft.
1) Functional value, it must work perfectly above all else.
2) Aesthetic Value is unimportant, its looks are dependent upon its function.
3) Value for money, secondary to performance.
Example 2: Economy Shopping Car
1) Functional value, not that important - as long as it works.
2) Aesthetic Value, what it looks like is secondary to its cost.
3) Value for money, cheapest price is all important.
Example 3: How we design a project :- New Reception Scheme at Acme Engineering Ltd.
1) Functional value, important but not critical.
2) Aesthetic Value is very important, its looks are critical to corporate image.
3) Value for money, secondary to appearance - the company will spend more to get the look they want.
It can be seen from these three examples, that different projects have a different emphasis on the most important aspect. One we have established our clients requirements, we can produce a proposal using these principals to best satisfy the requirement.
